Spotlight: Interview with Member of FBI's 9/11 Investigation

Jenny Prior Brown was a Trial Attorney in the Public Integrity Section of the Department of Justice when 9/11 happened. She was immediately detailed to the Terrorism and Violent Crime section to work on the FBI's 9/11 Investigation. More specifically, Ms. Brown was a member of the task force that was investigating Flight 93. Their job was to investigate everywhere that the hijackers had been before the attacks and what they had been doing. The investigation was based out of the FBI Headquarters, but most of the work that the Task Force performed took place at the crash sites and various places around the country that the hijackers had been before 9/11. When asked about the investigation overall, Ms. Brown said, “It was the honor of a lifetime without any question.”

In this clip, Ms. Brown explains her investigatory role on the FBI's Flight 93 Task Force.

Here, Ms. Brown explains the most interesting part of their investigation: listening to the cockpit voice recorder that was recovered from the Flight 93 crash site.
