Timeline of Women's Suffrage in Delaware
Delaware played a major role in the women’s suffrage movement, despite not originally ratifying the 19th Amendment to the constitution. The timeline below is meant to prove and explain this thesis. When the opportunity arose to be the 36th and final state to approve, Delaware failed to ratify the 19th Amendment. Despite Delaware's legislature rejecting the amendment in 1920, Delaware's citizens still played an important role in fighting for Women's Suffrage throughout the early 20th century.
